Mobile parking has become a service category of its own: apps no longer simply process the parking fee, but can also identify parking zones, store licence plates, start and stop parking sessions, extend them in some systems, send notifications, generate invoices, and provide access to parking systems in other countries. In Hungary, Simple, EasyPark and Parkl are among the best-known mobile parking solutions, while abroad you may also encounter country-specific applications. In Slovakia, for example, ParkDots can be important; in Vienna, HANDYPARKEN; in Poland, Skycash Parking; and in Romania, TPARK. The key is therefore not simply to have “a parking app” on your phone, but to know which application works in a particular country, city and parking zone, what features it offers, and what it costs to use.

Simple Basic: HUF 0 service fee

Manual zone-code parking, starting and stopping sessions, vehicle management and card payment are included in the Basic service.

Simple Pro: HUF 69 per parking session

GPS-based zone search, maps, zone-boundary warnings, notifications and additional convenience features are included.

EasyPark: HUF 0 parking-start convenience fee in Hungary

For Hungarian-registered users parking abroad, the current standard service fee is 15%, with a minimum of HUF 125.

Several local apps are important abroad

ParkDots, HANDYPARKEN, Skycash Parking and TPARK are applications with significant coverage in several neighbouring countries.

01 What can a modern parking app do?

Zone identification, starting, stopping, extending, notifications and multiple licence plates

The real difference between parking apps is not the payment itself, but the features built around it

All of these apps can process parking fees; the main differences are in zone search, automation, notifications and international coverage.
Manual zone code The zone code displayed at the parking location can be entered manually. This is the simplest form of mobile parking.
GPS-based zone identification The app uses the phone’s location to suggest the relevant parking zone.
Map-based zone selection The parking area can be selected visually, making zone boundaries easier to see.
Starting and stopping The parking session can be managed directly from the application.
Extension Where supported, the duration of an active parking session can be changed.
Automatic renewal Some applications can automatically continue parking with a new transaction when local parking rules allow it.
Multiple licence plates Several personal, family or company vehicles can be managed from one account.
Notifications Push notifications may warn you about an expiring session, an active transaction or other parking events.
Invoicing Several services provide electronic receipts or VAT invoices.
International use Some apps work with the same account in multiple countries.
02 Parking apps in Hungary

Simple, EasyPark and Parkl: the basic purpose is the same, but the surrounding features differ

Three major Hungarian mobile parking options side by side

Zone handling, additional features, pricing and international usability are the most important differences.
App Zone handling Main features
Simple Basic Manual zone-code entry Start, manual or automatic stop, active-session tracking, multiple vehicles, card payment, invoice request.
Simple Pro GPS + map-based zone search Zone-boundary warning, expiry timer, scheduled start, quick payment, widget, notifications, favourite vehicle and zone, Android Auto / Live Activity.
EasyPark GPS, map or zone code Start, stop, extension, multiple vehicles, push notifications, parking history, email receipts, international use.
Parkl GPS-based suggested zone and map adjustment Start, active-session tracking, automatic renewal, notifications, card payment, monthly VAT invoice.
03 Fees and plans

The parking tariff is not the only cost: the app itself may also charge a service fee

Service fees in Hungary in autumn 2026

The base parking tariff is always determined by the parking zone; an additional app service fee may apply on top of that.
Service App-related fee Note
Simple Basic HUF 0 service fee The zone code must be entered manually.
Simple Pro HUF 69 per parking session The fee includes GPS-based and several added-value functions.
EasyPark – Hungary HUF 0 parking-start convenience fee Since 16 March 2026, there has been no separate convenience fee for starting a parking session in Hungary.
EasyPark – abroad 15%, minimum HUF 125 Standard service fee for users registered in Hungary, calculated on the parking or charging fee.
Parkl The fee shown for the specific parking session applies The application displays the zone tariff before the parking session is started.
Fees can change

Especially when parking abroad, always use the total amount shown in the application before confirming the transaction as the current reference.

04 Mobile parking in Budapest

Since 1 July 2026, parking-meter payments have been discontinued in Budapest

Paid on-street parking has moved to mobile-phone-based payment

Mobile apps, SMS or phone calls can be used; street parking meters are no longer part of the Budapest payment system.
Zone A One of Budapest’s main paid-parking zones. The exact tariff and charging period should always be checked locally.
Zone B Its tariff and regulated hours may differ from Zone A.
Zone C The third main category in Budapest’s paid on-street parking system.
Zone D The fourth main type of Budapest parking zone.
In Budapest, zone handling is one of the main differences between apps

With Simple Basic, you enter the zone code manually. Simple Pro, EasyPark and Parkl can also provide map- or GPS-based assistance when selecting the correct zone.

06 Parking apps abroad

Austria, Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Slovenia and Romania: which apps are worth knowing?

EasyPark works in many places, but local apps remain important in several countries

When driving abroad, it is therefore useful to check the supported parking systems country by country.

Tatras, Alps, Slovak Paradise and Zakopane: specific places where mobile parking apps can be useful

These towns and regions can be particularly relevant for hikers
